Question: i need a specific answer to a specific question, not a generic response like the last time I paid $35 for a question. here it is. what exactly is a Cochran or cocran drug screen via urine test. what is the duration? I have to take a 10 panel screen for use of adderal and clonazepam. I do not do any illegal street drugs. I have taken my Adderall and clonazepam pretty regularly for the last week or so. will I pass?

Brief Answer:
As of today you will pass only Adderall test.Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir

I interpreted your concern.

I have gone through your earlier queries as well.

Sir let me give you a through 10- point clarification as below.Kindly bear with me.
This is to educate you to the fullest pertaining to your issue concerned.

I am here providing answers to your unsolved/partially solved queries.

1.Cochrane which is an international independent organization, dedicated to producing, update and disseminate systematic reviews about the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of problematic drug and alcohol use.

2.The CDAG (Cochrane Drugs and Alcohol Review Group )has the editorial base in Rome. This organization has designed these pre-employment (medical health check) urine screening tests to offer job/workplace eligibility, which are followed worldwide.

3.10-panel screen , tests the following compounds in one step-Marijuana, Cocaine, Opiates, Amphetamine, Methamphetamine, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Oxycodone, Methadone, and Buprenorphine.---Of which we are interested in only the Amphetamine and Benzodiazepine groups only (as you do not take rest of any illegal street drugs mentioned).

Adderall belongs to amphetamine group and Clonazepam belongs to Benzodiazepine group.

4.Urine drug screen results are reported within one business day, as long as the specimen is shipped to the lab the same day it is collected, and the specimen does not have to undergo further testing such as confirmation testing.

5.Urine detection is based on drug half-life.A drug takes 4.5 half-lives SINCE THE LAST DRUG DOSE for a complete elimination of the drug from the body.

6.In your case, the last drug dose is last day of the last week. You need to calculate it from that point onwards.Let us assume it as Saturday or Sunday.

7.Adderall has an half-life of 10 hours. Therefore, it takes around 45 hours(4.5 times of 10 hrs) for it to completely get eliminated and undetected on urine.

-LET ME EXPLAIN this clearly-The half life of Adderall is about 10 hours.
-This means that every 10 hours, half of the previous amount of Adderall in the body disappears.

-For example, if you took 10mg of Adderall at 12 AM (midnight)/on day 1, then at 10 AM/on day1, 5mg of Adderall will be left in your body.

-Likewise, it takes approx 45 hrs -at 9 PM on DAY 2 to completely eliminate from the body.Hope you understood.

8.Likewise the half-life for Clonazepam is 40 hrs. Therefore, it takes 160 hrs(approx 7 days) to completely eliminate from the body and test negative on the urine screen.

9.Hence under the current context (as of today),you will possibly be tested negative for Adderall (since 45 hours have elapsed from the last dose taken) and Positive for Clonazepam(because 160 hours have NOT elapsed since the last dose) on your urine screen test.

10.This implies as of today you will pass Adderall test, but fail Clonazepam test. You can pass both tests with great ease on or after Monday-24th Aug 2015.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

i don't think u understood my question. this test will be taken at my psychiatrist's office to determine whether or not I am taking my Adderall and clonazepam as prescribed....so I want the drugs to show up in my system as prescribed. my last dose of Adderall was this morning and my last clonazepam was last night....which is as prescribed. I have been following this routine for the past week and longer for the clonazepam. I want to make sure I test positive (been taking as prescribed) since I have been taking as prescribed for the last week. thank u for your assistance! before that I may have taken a little more Adderall than prescribed.

Brief Answer:
You will be tested positive for both adderall and clonazepam.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir,

I am extremely apologetic to you.We have travelled in two parallel paths.

A Huge degree of confusion has prevailed between us.

Let me totally assure you, that I can win your confidence at this attempt making your money worth.

Coming to your Query-

1. So you want the drugs to show up in your system to reflect your drug compliance to your psychiatrist. That's fine Sir.These tests are known as Drug compliance or Drug monitoring tests-DCT's or DMT's.

2. I confirm you can detect the presence of these drugs in your system-Sure you will pass the test this time.

3. We can still deduce this confirmation for the above statement based on my earlier answer-The half-life concept.

4. Urine detection is based on the half-life of a drug.A drug takes 4.5 half-lives SINCE THE LAST DOSE for a complete elimination of the drug from the body.

5. Adderall has an half-life of 10 hours. Therefore, it takes around 45 hours(4.5 times of 10 hrs) for it to completely get eliminated and undetected on urine.

LET ME EXPLAIN this clearly-The half life of Adderall is about 10 hours.
-This means that every 10 hours, half of the previous amount of Adderall in the body disappears.

-For example, if you took 10mg of Adderall at 12 AM (midnight) on Day 1, then at 10 AM on same Day 1, 5mg of Adderall will be left in your body.

-Likewise, it takes approx 45 hrs -terminating at 9 PM on DAY 2 to completely eliminate from the body.Hope you understood.

6. Additional intake of the little amount of Adderall than prescribed(as told by you in the query) will not affect this equation significantly. You can ignore this little amount.

7. Hence if you take test for Adderall (within the timeframe limit of 45hrs) as on today, then you will be strongly tested for its presence in your body system(reflecting your great therapeutic drug compliance), as the timing of test taken is well below the drug's maximum elimination time.

8. Similarly, the half-life for Clonazepam is 40 hrs. Therefore, it takes 160 hrs(ie; 4.5 times of 40 hrs-approx 7 days) to completely eliminate from the body and test negative on the urine screen.Slightly longer drug intake for more than a week(as told in your query will not also affect the equation with clonazepam.

9.Therefore, if you can take the test well within the 160 hr time frame limit, you will be tested positive for Clonazepam, reflecting your great compliance with the prescribed drug therapy.

TO CONCLUDE-

10. Hence under the current context (as of today),you will be tested positive for both Adderall (since 45 hours have NOT elapsed from the last dose taken) and Clonazepam(because 160 hours have NOT elapsed since the last dose) on your urine as well as blood screen tests.Hence, you can pass both tests.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Balanced levels of Adderall show up on tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

Welcome back.

I understand your concern.

Alcohol will not show up in this screen sir.

The 10-panel test is not intended or designed to measure alcohol.

The additional doses of Adderall taken on Sunday will certainly show up on the blood test. These additional dosages will balance the earlier missed doses(as on Wednesday) attaining an equilibrium in the body.

Overall the results of blood levels for Adderall will be in normal therapeutic range as expected by your psychiatrist.

Pertaining to urine drug level testing, additional doses taken on Sunday followed by regular doses on Monday will show up together as positive test providing a balance drug excretion.

To conclude-Overall the blood and urine levels show the presence of the drug in balanced therapeutic levels as expected by your doctor.

Note-Computations may get affected only when missed doses of Adderall exceed 3 and extra doses exceed 4. Hence please see that you do not exceed these limitations.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.

how far back in the past does the Cochrane urine drug screen go for? does urine ever completely clear itself of Adderall xr? I thought u told me it takes 45 hours to get out of your urine? I may be facing a drug compliance test again in about a month and have taken pills every 12 hours for the past 2-3 days. how far in advance of a test do I have to take my prescribed once in the morning Adderall xr to comply with taking my meds as prescribed? a week, 10 days or what????? thx!!!

Brief Answer:
Take the dug at least 3 days prior to test date.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

Yes, it takes 45 hours "since the last dose" of Adderall to completely eliminate out of the body via urine. This is the for sure for this drug pharmacokinetics.

Yes, the urine can completely clear off the drug Adderall after 45 hours if another dose is not taken within this time frame.

In case you want to show that you comply with drug intake at prescribed doses and intervals on your urine test next month, then I advise you to take Adderall XR (one tab twice a day )at least for 3 days without fail prior to test day. This will keep adequate drug levels in the body for it to be detected on the urine screen.

Post your further queries if any,
Thank you.

my dosage is 30 mg once in the morning. why should I take 2 in the morning 3 days prior to test? won't that show up as too much Adderall xr in my system? if I just take once in the morning 3-5 days prior to test time, shouldn't I be alright? or????? what. thx!

Brief Answer:
30 mg once a day in the morning for 3-5 days prior to test date is enough.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I am extremely apologetic for the delayed response due to a hectic schedule.

Yes, in case if you are taking 30 mg once in the morning, it is quite evident enough to be shown on drug compliance tests in therapeutic levels.

Please Note-I mentioned twice a day frequency in case if you are prescribed 20 mg/day( Since the standard prescribed dosage of Adderall XR is 20mg/day to be given in 2 divided doses of 10 mg each 4 hours apart).Hence under this preview I initially mentioned twice a day dosing for adequate drug levels on testing.

The extended release(XR) formulation available under the brand Adderall XR is designed to provide a therapeutic effect and plasma concentrations identical to taking two doses 4 hours apart.

Hence to Conclude-

30 mg once a day in the morning for 3-5 days prior to the test date is enough to show adequate therapeutic drug levels of Adderall XR on drug compliance tests.

Post your further queries if any.

Thank you.
