Brief Answer:
polymenorrhagia

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for the query,
As mentioned by you that you were on deep last year and have been recently off it, it is likely that the hormonal balance for progesterone may take time to return and as you are already 54, likely that you may be perimenopausal as well.
It is suggested that a hormonal profile may be done to look for FSH &LH values and also progesterone levels in mid cycle. Also if the bleeding is not controlled by antifibrinolytics, then a dilatation ad curettage is better offered at this stage instead of allowing to bleed heavy. The curettage can be subjected to histopathological examination to rule out progesterone deficiency and if found then you would have to be placed on progesterones for 10 days in the second half of the cycle to stop bleeding.
Please discuss the options with your physician and take an informed decision.
Regards
