What Does Daytime Phlegm And Cough Indicate?

Question: Hi Doctor, I am suffering from strange pattern of cough since a month. I am having cough only while I brush in the morning and a lot of phlegm comes out at that time. Through out the day, I only have a mild cough while talking or sometimes a nasal block.
I have never been allergic to any kind of smell or situations. I am not understanding what could be the reason for the persistence of the issue. I have tried few natural and home made remedies. Kindly let me know if you would suggest any test or any medicines. Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
The cough on brushing is due to irritation at The back of tongue that excites the gag reflex.
But as you said you have mild nasal blockage also, you should get a xray paranasal sinuses done and sputum examination should be done.
Take a combination of levocetrizine plus pseudoephedrine pseudoephedrine twice daily for a week and xylometazoline nasal drops three times a day.
All the medicine prescribed by me will be available only on prescription.
Follow up with xray so that I can suggest you better.
Take care
Thanks and regards
