Question : I had lab work done and was called today because i have elevated B12. What is the next test they are wanting to do and what can it mean?
Brief Answer:
In most cases doesn't mean anything
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Elevated B12 in most cases isn't indicator of some disease or disorder especially if there is no significant elevation. It can be elevated in certain diets or after any infection in your body. However, when elevated b12 is found, then doctors preventively do some tests to rule out possible more serious diagnoses. In first case, these are some hematological diseases ( white blood cells disorders) or liver diseases so he probably want you to check these 2.
Wish you good health. Regards
