Brief Answer:
can be used

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes, you can use the statins (atorvastatin)

Increase in liver function tests is a well known possible side effect of the use of statins.
At present medical studies are unclear if this increase represents damage to the liver or just a liver reaction.

There is also emerging data that show that these medications are well tolerated in persons who have chronic liver disease due to conditions such as non alcoholic fatty liver, hepatitis c and primary bilary cirrhosis.

Non alcoholic fatty liver disease is one of the most common causes of increase in liver enzymes. It is the build up of fat in the liver.
This build up can go on to cause inflammation and then damage to the liver if treatment is not started.

Non alcoholic fatty liver is most common in persons who may be : inactive, diabetic, overweight or obese, history of high cholesterol.

The use of the atorvastatin would help treat your high cholesterol and should not cause any problems as it relates to the slight increase in liver enzymes.
In fact, if the changes are due to non alcoholic fatty liver, may help prevent any further changes in the liver.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other problem

Hi doctor.

I have another thing to ask.

My feet and fingers are always cold.

Not sure if this is because of winter or change of weather.

What could this be? I have attached a picture for you.

There doesnt seem any colour change or any particular pain.

Pls help.

You have been fantastic so far!!

Brief Answer:
may be cold, decreased blood or nerve related

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry about the late reply

Coldness of the peripheries can be related to either the vascular (blood supply) to the area or to the nerve supply.

The nerves in the peripheries are responsible for transmitting information from the peripheral aspects of the body to the spinal cord and brain.
They transmit information on heat, cold, pain, vibration sense, motion.

Your doctor would be able to determine if either of these is the cause of your cold sensation.
If both the blood supply and nerve supply are normal then the coldness is related to the environmental temperature change.

Assessment of blood supply can be done by checking the strength of the pulses in the upper and lower limbs.

Assessment of nerve supply can be done by performing a neurological examination of the limbs.

Please feel free to ask any additional questions
