Question : Can you please tell me if I need to be concerned. My doctor hasn't said that I need my blood work repeated but I'm concerned about my slightly high globulin level. My numbers are:

Total protein 8.2 (normal range 6.4-8.2)
Albumin 3.8 (normal range 3.3-5.0)
*Globulin 4.4 (normal range 2.0-4.0)
*A/G Ratio .9 (normal range 1.0-2.4)

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Blood tests result normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome on HealthcareMagic.
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

In my opinion the results of your blood tests are normal. You don't need to worry about them and there is no need to repeat the tests.

The normal values listed here (called a reference range) are just a guide.
These ranges vary from lab to lab.For example a globulin level of 4.4 that is considered high value from this lab might be completely in normal range in another lab.
Despite this, a doctor will evaluate the results based on your health and other factors. This means that a value that falls outside the normal values listed here may still be normal for you .

These slightly changes on your values from the reference values of the lab aren't indicative for a specific condition so there is no need to do further tests.

I repeat that everything is normal in your blood tests.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have other questions or doubts to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you. I forgot to mention that back in March I had a CT scan for appendicitis which i didn't have but it said possible hepatic steatosis. My doctor was not concerned about this either. I had blood work done that was completely normal in May. I'm not over weight, hardly drink and don't have hig cholesterol. Is this slight change still not concerning?h

Brief Answer:
Normal blood tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

I apologize for the delay in answering you.

Hepatic statosis (fatty liver) is very common. It is a reversible condition and usually goes away on its own. Fatty liver often has no symptoms and does not cause any permanent damage.

Your blood tests are considered normal. They don't indicate any specific problem that would require further tests and investigations.
From the tests your liver function is normal.

You have nothing to worry about the blood tests.

Wish you all the best,
Take care,
Dr.Rovena
