                                            Question : I have just received a message from my Dr (who does not work after hours) advising that the path lab doing a routine (fasting) blood test this morning that my potassium levels are high and she advised me to hospital.  Pls adv what the symptoms of hi pot levels are, and how soon should I go to hospital (it is now 8.30PM Sat.

High potassium levels are a medical emergency if it's more than 5.5 MEq/L. and sudden rise.
It can lead life threatening arrhythmias at times and has high risk for life hence you should go to ER and get treated and evaluated.
