Brief Answer:
Can be bursitis or arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Pain in the hip at your age can be due to a muscle or tendon strain, osteoarthritis, bursitis or tendinitis, you can usually relieve it with an over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as Motrin or Aleve. In case the pain is persistent or is associated with swelling then investigations like MRI scan and X-ray are needed for proper diagnosis. Do consult an orthopedician for proper treatment.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
