Brief Answer:
they indicate increase in blood supply.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic.
Myself Dr Sudhir XXXXXXX after going through your query,

I concluded that increased vascular marking following trauma indicate increased blood flow to cuboid bone.Post trauma there increased blood flow in the area.Even if there no fracture in investigation there can be very minor bony injury and even soft tissue injury also increase vascularity. other causes of increased vascularity are neoplastic growths and healing phase of avascular necrosis.
But as you mentioned of a fall so it may be most likely due to minor injury to cuboid bone or soft tissue around it leading to increased vascularity and increased vascular markings in the cuboid bone on investigation.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
