Question : My daughter had a miscarriage two months ago and she is pregnant again 6 1/2-7wks, she is 42 yrs old went for. Checkup today and the babies heart rate is half of what it should be. Is she going to lose this baby also?
Brief Answer:
There are chances to continue her pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.
If fetal heart beating are present but they are decreased than her gestational age is not a good sign, but this doesn't mean that she will have miscarriage.
In my practice if all other parts of pregnancy are good, like gestational sacks, yolk sac and pregnancy age is growing appropriately, pregnancy will be good in the future.
Hence she will wait for another weeks to be sure if her pregnancy will be good.
There is no measures that she can take until she will do another ultrasound examination.
All the best
