Question : What does the low Lipase (14) mean? And what does the high MPV (10.7) of the CBC mean? I am having an ultra sound tomorrow.
Brief Answer:
These could be insignificant clinically and even normal!
Detailed Answer:
Hi! thanks for writing to us!
Low lipase level might indicate damage/injury to or chronic diseases of the enzyme producing cells of the pancreas like cystic fibrosis and high MPV or mean platelet volume indicates large number of large-sized platelets however, until the platelets are non-functional, it is harmless and generally seen in cases of infections/bone marrow stimulation and medicines etc. Platelet count is more important!
Feedback welcome!
