Brief Answer: Needs surgical consult Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX A small swelling that appears loose and jelly like can be a dilated lymphatic or vein. One condition in which a lump is seen specifically in vas deferens is post-vasectomy. But your description of the swelling also correlates with a more common condition called as inguinal hernia which does not happen in vas deferens but is a scrotal swelling. In this condition the intestines from the abdomen protrude into the scrotal cavity. The intestines feel like jelly on touch and are seen with particular postures. These tend to disappear while lying down. To distinguish between these conditions a surgical consult is required. Diagnosis can be made only on physical examination and further tests. The tests can include ultrasound of the scrotum. Hope it helps. Dr Vaishalee
