Question: Hi I'm 18 w and 4 days pregnant and just got a congenital anamoly scan done - Level II (Tiffa). There is a mild pelviectasis of foetal Rt kidney (5.6 mm) which requires a revaluation in the third trimester. I want to know 1.what this means exactly? 2. what effects would it have on the child after birth and through the period of the pregnancy if it can rectify/correct itself. Thanks a lot.

Brief Answer:
Dont worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Renal pelvis constriction as seen in anomaly scan is common finding.

2. Fortunately these types of small constriction gets corrected by themselves as urine production increases in later part of pregnancy.

3. Hence I suggest you dont worry about it and it will be fine by the time you reach 30 weeks of pregnancy.

4. Dont worry about it.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards
