Question: My CT scan shows 'right kidney measures 8 x 3.2 cms. Small sized with cortical irregularity and mild prominence of pelvis. Left kidney measures 12.4 x 5.9 cms. Shows compensatory hypertrophy.' Whether there is any complication, sir.

CT scan findings may suggests chronic problem in right kidney.It is evident by small size and surface irregularity of right kidney.
There is compensatory enlargement of left kidney due to problem in right kidney.
Findings need proper clinical correlation and complete renal evaluation.
Investigations include routine hemogram,random blood sugar,urine RE/ME,serum urea,creatinine,creatinine clearance,GFR,24 hour protein excretion,serum sodium,potassium,bicarbonate,chloride,phosphate estimation etc.

Treatment depend upon findings.
Patient findings need complete evaluation by a nephrologist.
