Question : I am 21 years old with thyroid ca dx in XXXXXXX Thyroid removed, took radiactive iodine pill, after a iodine free diet. 1st scan showed L1 mass. Scan today showed L1 mass, something in my thyroid bed and medialstinal metastasis. Nothing will be done until Oct...and they will do a neck scan then. Also will repeat radioactive iodine diet followed by radioactive pill.? Doesnt it need treatment now? What about the mass in my medial stinum area and L1? Please advise me on questions to ask my oncologist. what do you think my prognosis is?
Brief Answer:
Hello. It depends upon the tumor mass
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear. I have gone through the details. So we usually go for radioactive iodine ablation after 6 to 12 weeks of surgery. However, it can be postponed further if the tumor burden is low.
You can discuss these issues with your oncologist. You must be having a small metastatic lesions, thats why it has been deferred.
Thanks and regards
