Brief Answer:
It may be due to many causes like MS,ischemic changes etc.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

There are few hyper intensities in white matter of brain. It may be due to many causes like MS, ischemic changes, etc. Your neurologist will be able to arrive at the diagnosis / cause after correlating it clinically and after further investigations like spinal fluid examination by lumbar puncture.

There are many typical clinical features of MS, which I expect must have been evaluated.
You may also need follow up MRI.

Besides clinical correlation, you may need routine investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile, liver and renal function test. If you haven't visited a neurologist / undergone these tests, I will recommend you consider it.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you for your answer. One more question. Several months ago I had a mole excised from my neck that was considered benign but borderline for melanoma. I had it excised fully and it was confined to the epidermis. On the off chance that it was actually a melanoma, could the spots on my mri be any sort of metastis or does metastis look differently on imaging? Thank you.

Hello

It doesn't look like metastasis.Metastasis in brain may appear as ring like, nodular, punctated etc and these are generally associated with edema etc.
