Question : I have high prolactin level and my period has been light since May. A MRI done in November shows a nodule/microedonoma 7*7*3 in the pituitary gland. I have high blood pressure and im taking benazepril since november. I wake up lightheaded, with headache, feel tired, blurred vision and it doesn't go away since November. Can a growth this size cause these symptoms?

Brief Answer:
It can, please check other hormones

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your questions and understand your concerns.

Pituitary adenomas of this size usually won't cause any symptoms. If it increase in size or if there is a bleeding in the adenoma it can cause these symptoms.

Please check for other hormone deficiencies which can also cause these symptoms - check your thyroid function and Cortisol (8am). You can do a visual field examination also after consulting an opthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further questions, I will be pleased to help you.

Regards
Dr Ajish TP
