Brief Answer:
There is fluid collection in right elbow joint from trauma or inflammation

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. There is slight accumulation of fluid in the right elbow joint.

2. The bones, muscles and ligaments are normal to the extent visualized.

3. Elbow effusion usually follows any traumatic event involving the affected joint. If there is no acute injury then probably it is inflammation. If it is happening for many days to weeks then it can be a chronic inflammation, due to wear and tear or an early arthritis. If it is a sudden onset with significant pain then it can be an acute inflammation.

Treatment will depend on presentation and clinical examination and is conservative with rest to the painful joint, physiotherapy and ointment and pain relief medicines like ibuprofen (NSAIDS) to decrease the pain after confirming the cause of the joint effusion.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
You can discuss platelet rich plasma injection with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. Without a confirmed diagnosis, it is difficult to suggest a definitive treatment for your pain which will give you long term benefit.

2. However you can discuss the intraarticular joint injection of platelet rich plasma injections if steroid (depomedrol) is not giving sufficient relief. Your doctor will be able to discuss if this is suited for you depending on your clinical examination.

3. If the joint fluid quantity increases (though it looks mild in the report) later, you can discuss if joint aspiration and fluid analysis will help confirm diagnosis and give relief.

Hope your query is answered.
