Your husband has degenerative disc disease of lumbar spine at multiple levels with foraminal stenosis and nerve root compression.

This can be corrected with the help of surgery. These are all age related progressive changes. You need to consult a neurosurgeon for proper surgical procedure. Till then for pain relief, muscle relaxants and medicines like pregabalin and Gabapentin can help.
