Question: Hello Doctor,
I Mrs. XXXX is diagnosed with glandular TB lymph nodes in the neck in 2010. TB medicines were taken for a month & then stopped since SGOT & SGPT levels increased.
Since past one month have started the TB medicines.
Just for our concern we have removed an MRI of the Brain. It states that "Bilateral carotid and vertebro basilar arteries and their branches reveal normal flow void."
Conclusions state that No significant abnormality identified.
Please advise on the meaning of the above sentence & have also attached MRI report for your reference. Please advise on the report attached.
Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Normal MRI study

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The Mri findings are normal.
The flow void is signal alteration during various Mri sequences.
The flow void described is of blood flow as there motion leads to black or hypo signal on Mri sequence.
For gland tuberculosis you need to consult a physician.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Heaviness / Light headedness / Tightness / dull mild aches / numbness(at times) /instability continue in the head at times.
Drowsiness / Fainting

Please explain causes of puffiness in the face & also should i do my thyroid test.
Is it because of some water retention or improper blood circulation. From before my face has puffed up.

I am G6PD deficient

Every night during my sleep i get cramp numbness in my left palm / fingers.(since past 4-5 days)
Also on pressing both my legs some sort of current / cramp passes from it (since quite some months)

I am taking following medicines as follows for treatment of my glandular TB lymph nodes in the neck. -

R Cinex (450g) before breakfast
Orofer XT, Becousules capsule & Benadon (40g) after breakfast
Orofer XT, Rinifol in the evening

My haemoglobin was 7.9 earlier but after taking orofer XT tablet twice a day, at present my latest CBC reflects haemoglobin as 11.2. So should i take one orofer XT tablet or should i continue taking two orofer tablets.

Thanks & Regards

Brief Answer:
Take treatment as advised and get investigated

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Puffiness of face may be due to renal dysfunction, steroids related or Thyroid disorder related.
You should get Thyroid profile, blood urea and creatinine and serum protein and albumin.
Is there any urinary complains, breathlessness?
The drugs mentioned are adequate and should be continued under guidance as some drugs will be changed at 2 months of therapy.
Dizziness and heaviness may be drug related. You should take adequate fluid and food. Get blood pressure measurement done.
Orofer xt needs to be continued as body store is replenished after 3-6 months of normalisation of hemoglobin.
Wishing you good health.
