Brief Answer:
Findings might suggest mild inflammation of airways

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Coarse lung marking refers to a condition where there is mild inflammation of the walls of small air passages.

2. A right hilum that is heavy shows that the attachment of the right lung to the large airways and vessels is slightly prominent. This is a subjective observation which does not signify any specific disease condition and is to be discussed keeping in ind the symptoms.

3. Left costophrenic angle being blunt is due to thickening of the covering of the lung called pleura. This is common in the elderly.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It is a common treatable condition

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. It is important to know if the patient is having asthma, is a regular smoker or working in polluted environment. The age of patient is also required because certain changes are expected in elderly and which is near normal. In a young patient it can be due to mild bronchitis which happens usually with cough and cold. This is treatable depending on the condition. It is not a serious problem. Blood investigations are normal and post prandial sugar seem in lower limit.

Hope your query is answered.
