Question: Hi,
I just received an xray result from a nurse which said that I had "prominent tissue in the right lower lung field." I have not spoken to my doctor yet and have no idea what this means.

Brief Answer:
It is generally due to infection/inflammation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Prominent tissue in lower zone of right lung may indicate increased bronchovascular markings.
It is generally due to infection/inflammation.
This is usually not a serious finding and it may reverse with treatment of underlying cause.
However, you may need clinical correlation. It may be due to cough which you have mentioned in history.
You may need antibiotics for cough.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your query.
Further queries are most welcome.
