Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If it will be a contrast injected in your veins, it does not stay long in the body. The half life of it is about 2 hours. After that time the half of it will be excreted with urine. Complete removal from the body should take no longer than 12 hours.
The scan is quite safe. The contrast itself very rarely causes any side effects. The most common is an allergic reaction. You will feel a kind of warmness inside the body during the injection.
CT scan gives some radiation to you, but the dosage is also safe.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
