Brief Answer:
Hi can you send me your blood report sir.

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir,
I did review your concern.
LG platelets in blood report means large platelets seen on smear.

Large platelets are to be viewed in relation to the count of platelet. In view of low or low normal platelets it generally indicates regeneration of platelets after infection or inflammation by the bone marrow and are seen in recovery phase of thrombocytopenias.
Large platelets with normal count or high platelet counts are seen as a normal variation, or in chronic myelofproliferative problems or rare syndromes like XXXXXXX Soulier disease, Essential thrombocytosis, etc.

I can comment better with the knowledge of platelet count, hemoglobin and wbc count and differential as well as the complete report of smear morphology analysis.Hence I would recommend you to upload your report here or send it to YYYY@YYYY with Sub: ATTN 'Dr Parth XXXXXXX Desai'.

In most case scenario it is nothing to worry about and just an observation noted by pathologist as it is in response to recovery from infection or inflammation.

I hope this helps
Waiting for your reply.

Wish you all the best.

Brief Answer:
Hi It seems your platelet count is recovering nicely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I did review your reports sir.
Your hemoglobin and WBC count are absolutely normal.
Platelet count is in low normal range and hence presence of large platelets are indicative of recovery from an episode of recent thrombocytopenia.
Your bone marrow is doing absolutely fine work now!

Yes, It could be related to your recent infection as you suspect. However, I would recommend a repeat blood test in 3- 4 weeks just to ensure platelets go back in the normal range or rise and large platelets will be mostly normalizing by that time.

i hope your sickle test if performed is normal. RBC morphology is normal so thats a good sign.
So, nothing to worry about right now for you as far as this blood report is considered.

I hope this helps
Waiting for your reply.
Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.
Wish you all the best with the football selection my friend!
Sincerely,
Dr Parth Desai.
