Brief Answer:
get your liver screen done to find the exact pathology .

Detailed Answer:
Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns.
According principles of Medicine , lab investigations should always be interpreted in light of clinical history and examination.
What were your complaints? Are you jaundiced? Are you taking alcohol? Any history of HCV or HBV?
Raised ALT with AST shows something is going wrong with your liver. You really need to check your liver.
If I am your attending physician I will get your complete liver function tests coupled with testing for HBV and HCV and autoimmune hepatitis.. Metabolic liver diseases should also be looked for. An ultrasound scan to look for liver texture is also relevant in this setting. In light of these I will be able to move forward and offer you treatment.
Hope it helps

Once the exact pathology is picked then these counts can be lowered. Since normal level of Alt is up to 40, so 200 is very high. Yes it is serious and cause has to be identified.
If you are drinking alcohol then stop drinking. And use tab. Silliver 100mg two times a day and do tell me when your all investigations are done, so that appropriate Management can be done in time.
Hope it helps
