Question: Is an Absolute Lymph count of 1.4 good? Percent Lymph is 17.1% and WBC is 8.4. These were on my CBC results and I am wondering.

Brief Answer:
The differential & absolute lymphocyte count are reduced- nothing to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your blood report.
The differential count and absolute count for lymphocytes is slightly low.
However, it does not indicate any serious problem.
You may get the counts repeated after few days.
If the levels come back to normal, there is nothing to worry.
Rest of the parameters are within normal limits.

Thanks and take care

What would cause this?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shailja Puri (4 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No significant cause behind mildly reduced lymphocytes.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
A single complete blood count showing mildly reduced lymphocytes may not be due to any significant cause.
I suggest you to take up a complete blood count after a month.
In the meanwhile there is no health related problem.
You may continue with normal routine activities without taking any stress.

Blood glucose level is slightly increased, all other parameters are normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
Yes, I have reviewed the second report.
All blood parameters - kidney function tests and liver function tests are within normal range.
The blood glucose level is slightly above the normal range, however, it is not serious.
Regular exercise and reduction of fatty foods will help to reduce blood glucose levels.

I was afraid the protein could be macroglobulinemia of Waldenstrom. I read it online.
doctor
Answered by Dr. Shailja Puri (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Normal albumin level rules out macroglobulinemia

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,

Macroglobulinemia and waldenstorm macroglobulinemia are characterized by low albumin and low globulin.

Although your protein is mildly elevated but albumin is within normal range.
