Question : Hi. I had a recent blood test. Everything came back normal but my billirubin levels are slightly high. I have had an flu/viral infection lately but now I'm ok. That was my reason for going to the doctor. I did however eat before my blood test. Should I be worried about these results and should I get further tests? I have no allergies or on any prescription medications. The blood test I took brought up nothing else. Advice please?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.

I've gone through your details and I appreciate your concerns.

Mildly elevated bilirubin levels have no significance if patiently is clinically stable and asymptomatic.
Bilirubin level less then 3 mg/dl has no clinical significance.

Bilirubin levels are not affected by taking food prior to the test and mild increase has no significance.

I do concur with your doctor and won't recommend you to go for any further testing.

Rest assured you are fine. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards!
