What Does My Blood Test Result Indicate?

Posted on Tue, 21 Jun 2016
Question: these are my latest blood work numbers for my WBC- total 3.9 and my neutrophils are 1677. Is this on the lower range? Ive read that lower WBC can mean something serious like lymphoma and I have had a lymph node pop up behind my ear that is about the size of a pea and its movable but I'm concerned.

Brief Answer:
just about ok

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

These counts are slightly on the lower side but by themselves are just about ok. I won't be too much concerned about lymphoma or other serious illnesses if everything else is fine. Did you have any recent viral infection? Because they can also suppress neutrophil count.

Lymph nodes, especially smaller ones are common in back of neck. They are usually benign.

I would repeat the counts after a few weeks and see the trend. If no further fall in, then nothing to worry.

Hope this helps.
Regards
