Question : Please make sense of my cytology results. I have benign squamous and urothelial cells with occasional atypical cells showing large round hyperchromatic nuclei most suggestive of polyoma virus. No definite cytologic evidence of malignancy is seen. Is this something to be concerned about? Thankyou.

                                    Brief Answer:
You have viral infection most likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have viral infection most likely. You have few atypical cells suggestive of viral infection. You have no evidence of cancer. However atypical cells are there so it is advisable for repeat cytology after a month. Tell me your symptoms, age and sex for better clinical correlation.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
No need to worry. You don't have any symptoms and your age is also favourable. Most probably its just a viral infection. No need to worry. No any treatment is required right now. Just repeat cytology after a month.
Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you a very good health.
