Brief Answer:
it does indicate there are some problems with the kidneys

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The normal creatinine for adult males is 0.5 to 1.2 mg/dl, this can vary slightly from one lab to the next.

A GFR of 55 would be called a moderate decrease in GFR and all persons who have a GFR of less than 60 for more than 3 months would be said to have chronic kidney disease because this usually means that there is loss of half or more than half of kidney function.

This is according to the National kidney Association in the US..

This means that based on your results, there is evidence of kidney disease. It may be due to high blood pressure (high blood pressure meds noted).

Though it is usually not possible to reverse any damage, you can prevent any additional damage by tight control of your blood pressure.

In addition, controlling any other risk factors that may be present would also be important eg -diabetes, smoking, cholesterol
If any of these are present then decreasing the risk by controlling (diabetes , cholesterol) or stopping( smoking) , would help

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
if control factors, may not progress

Detailed Answer:
HI

The main aspect of treatment would be to control your blood pressure with meds and lifestyle and also any other risk factors that would affect the kidneys (blood sugar, smoking, cholesterol)

There are no specific meds that would be used for the kidneys just control of these risk factors

It is possible not to have any symptoms at this stage, if you are able to control the risk factors mentioned, it may not significantly progress any further

Please feel free to ask any other questions
