Question : Hi, A bit if a silly question. I had an urology check up a week ago and had an ultrasound of my testicles and they were perfectly fine. I have since examined myself there and got a bit paranoid as there are so many pipes and things i keep feeling and then obsess that i have felt something that shouldnt be there. My question is that if an ultrasound was all clear and perfectly fine a week ago, then something bad like a cancer lump that i would be able to feel, would have not grown from nothing to something i good feel within that time, correct?

Brief Answer:
Impossible for cancer to grow that fast.

Detailed Answer:
Good day and thank you for being with healthcare magic!

It would be impossible for a cancer lump or mass to grow from nothing in the span of one week. Ultrasound has a very good catch rate for testicular masses and is the gold standard in detecting masses in the scrotal area.

The scrotum has alot of structures inside and often being mistaken for lumps and masses. More often than not what you have felt is just a normal structure and nothing to worry about.

It is very good that you are performing self testicular examinations, this is best done after a warm shower where the scrotum is relaxed and advised to be done once or twice a month.

Thank you so much for your help! One last question - I assume that if anything bad was actually there like a lump then it would be quite obvious and easy to find rather than havingto hunt around for it, right?

Brief Answer:
Yes it will be pretty obvious.

Detailed Answer:
Yes that is correct if your doing your self testicular examination now then you'll have an idea of what is normal for you and you'll be able to determine what would be a new lump and you'll feel a solid mass.

Yes it should be pretty obvious because it would feel like a solid nodule or a solid mass
