Brief Answer:
Please upload reports and observe food restriction for 2 months

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. I am unable to find the ultrasound reports and request you to please upload the reports.

2. The problem of liver abscess is common and I see many patients with this problem. With proper medicine and precautions like normal healthy diet, they recover quickly in a few weeks.

3. The liver requires rest and therefore it is better to avoid oily foods for 2 months and eat food which is cooked at home.

4. Precaution includes drinking clean drinking water and avoiding food and water contamination.

5. Satrogyl O contains satranidazole and ofloxacin which is a better medicine combination than metrogyl and recommended for liver abscess. It has no serious side effects. Acimol is for pain relief and better to take after food.

Hope your query is answered.

Brief Answer:
Treatment given is right and his condition is improving in the ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing back with an update.

1. The reports have been seen and the liver abscess is constant and shows changes of resolution which indicates that healing has started.

2. The treatment is correct and the ultrasound scan shows improvement.

3. If the fever and pain in abdomen is under control then taking precautions mentioned above will help is healing better. The liver changes can stay for 2 months and if possible another scan can be done now to know how much healing has occurred. If last scan was on 16-12-2015 then he can go for another scan this week to know the volume of abscess.

Hope your query is answered.
