Question : My lab report shows hgb 11.9 G/DL, MCHC 31.3g/DL, RDW 15.2%, mon 0.6 x 10E3/ul. What does it indicates?
Brief Answer:
You have mild anemia.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your hemoglobin is slightly low. Your MCHC us also at low normal level. RDW and monocytes are normal.
It can be due to iron deficiency most likely.
You should go for peripheral smear and serum iron and ferritin level to confirm that.
You should take iron rich food like dates, green leafy vegetables, dry fruits, jaggery etc. If required you can take oral iron supplements.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
