Question: I have a synovial cyst extending into soft tissues at L4-L5. This area hurts very badly and it is chronic. Please see report. How serious is this? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No reason for panic.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Synovial cysts are fluid filled sacs formed near the facets, the joints between the vertebrae. How they form is not well understood but they are found commonly in association with chronic arthritic changes.

In most cases they do not cause any symptoms and there is no reason for worry, no treatment is needed. In those cases where they cause symptms it is where they are located in confined areas where by taking space they could lead to nerve compression like in the lateral recesses or the spinal canal. It is only in these cases of nerve compression that treatment may be required, a surgical procedure which is usually easy and effective.

In your case though from what I read in that highlighted paragraph (the full report can not be seen) there is no mention of the cysts compressing anything, since they protrude in the soft tissue there is available space. For that reason I do not think your cysts present any reason for concern. The symptoms are more likely due the already known facet arthropathy of the spine.

I remain at your disposal for other questions.

Brief Answer:
It is a second copy of the same report, no new attachments.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Perhaps you have made some mistake as I do not see any new attachments. You have uploaded the same MRI report copy you had already uploaded which I addressed in my answer.

It is the MRI of 10 February where you have highlighted the part about the synovial cyst, which apart from that speaks of facet arthropathy and a spondylolisthesis already known and unchanged from previous exam.

So since it's only another copy I can't add anything to my previous answer. If you meant to upload something else, please do so and I will gladly review it.

Still nothing

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry madam, I have tried refreshin the page over and over for the last 3 hours but I do not see any new reports, only 2 copies of the same file 0000.jpg

I made a screenshot of your question page which you can see at this link http://imgur.com/aoBZXhE As you may see circled in red there are only those 2 copies of the MRI report.

I am not sure whether it is an issue with the system or whether you are doing something wrong. I have answered over 800 questions on this site, but it's first time this happens in such a repeated manner. Perhaps you can contact support to ask for help.

Brief Answer:
Different file name but same content.

Detailed Answer:
Now it is a different name file 0000.jpg, but inside it is still the same report of the MRI of 10 February. I am putting below the links to each attached document you've uploaded, as you can see they are different uploads with different IDs, but with the same report photo in all three.

Can say say something about what you are trying to upload apart from the 10 February MRI, is it supposed to be another test or medical report?
