Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query again.

Based on the new data you provided I see that appart from bilateral c4 radiculopathy (which is responsible for bilateral numbnes and other symptoms, there's also evidence of right median neuropathy (which may be related to cervical lesions to).

I would like to suggest contacting neurosurgeon for a proper evaluation before continuing with physiotherapy (chiropractor specialist).

I think that surgery is the last therapeutic option (in case that physiotherapy fail to improve your symptoms).

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

Is right median neuropathy carpal tunnel syndrome . Isn't that different than peripheral neuropathy
Also the emg makes reference to the right and left trapeze muscles. Should I be concerned about that.

Could this also be causing left leg problem

I am trying to get in with neuro surgeon
1. Is right wrist median neuropathy carpel tunnel. Is that different from peripheral neuropathy.
2. Can c 4 bilateral neuropathy affect the legs as well.
3. The emg make reference to the trapezes muscles. Could the findings be a result of the c 4 radiculapathy. Is there any reason to be concerned.
Please answer these questions. I will then contact you after the neuro surgeon visit

Dr Shehu

The radiculopathy possibly explains the pain in arms
Does this include severe at night in arms
What about pain that I sometimes get in legs
Would radiculopathy account for left leg weakness
What about sharp pain around eye and left throat that I feel at night

The radiculopathy possibly explains the pain in arms > Does this include severe tingling pain at night in arms > What about pain that I sometimes get in both legs at night > Would radiculopathy also account for left leg weakness and positional problem with left foot > What about sharp pain around left eye and left throat that I feel at night Would radiculopathy account for that Finally is median nerve neuropathy like carpal tunnel Is that different than peripheral neuropathy

Hi back,

Median nerve neuropathy is a one nerve damage neuropathy called mononeuropathy or sometimes is related to carpal tunnel syndrome but in your case it's related to cervical spine lesions.

The damage seen on your examinations explain your upper limbs symptoms, but it's very uncommon to be associated with lower leg symptoms.

Since the examinations on the lower limbs were normal then they most likely are caused and/or aggravated by stress and anxiety. Please keep in mind that stress and anxiety may mimic symptoms of neuropathy and/or make them seems worse than they are normally.

The EMG findings is compatible with median nerve neuropathy and you shouldn't worry with above mentioned therapy it will be relieved.

The left eye pain and left throat may be associated with cervical spine radiculopathy to and may be aggravated by anxiety and stress.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

What about the emg showing right and left trapizius muscles showing activity. Should I be alarmed by that.
I will observe what causes me to wake up . This mornining an hour ago it was the arms that awakened me.
I could feel some tingling in the legs but very little.

Dr Shehu
How are you.
My neurologist says c4 radiculopathy would not cause tingling in arms,
Are you comfortable that it can cause tingling. I trust you so I will go with your answer

Hi back,

For the moment you shouldn't worry try to be calm and relaxed. Please keep in mind that anxiety aggravate and increase the intensity of your symptoms. This is why some of your symptoms may be atypical for the kind of cervical spine lesion found on MRI.

My opinion is that with adequate physiotherapy and with anxiolitic therapy you will be progressively better over the next couple of months.

However you should contact a neurosurgeon before starting physiotherapy (chiropractor).

Wish you health!

Hi back,

It's very difficult to suggest a polite way to discuss with your neurologist without knowing him personally.

I would like to suggest waiting for neuro surgeon consultation and than proceed with physiotherapy.

Wish you health!

She has agreed to eperform emg/nvc on all limbs on August 31. I have not given her the pain doctors emg/nvc because she is at a very reputable hospital and I would like their results. Once emg/nvc is done I will ask her in view of emg/nvc and mri whether she believes cervical issues coukd be causing my symptoms.

The cervical mri taken in Jun said left lateral disc impinges the existing left nerve root in the l2-l3. Is also says buldging disc at at l4 and l5. The chiropractor said h did not believe that was causing the leg problem. The neurologist said the same thing.

Hi back,

This is the most polite way to discuss with your doctor. Let's wait for the results and than asj her.

I also don't believe that the lumbar abnormalities found on july MRI are responsible for your leg symptoms.

My opinion is that your leg symptoms are related to the small lesions present on MRI which are aggravated by stress and anxiety. Please stay calm and relaxed till you perform all the needed consultation (especially with neurosurgeon).

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!

I will not do any further therapy until after neuro surgeon. The onlty thing I will do is relax neck with ice and heat and to correct forward head posture when I notice it. itHopefully this will relax neck and stop the intermttent headaches. Sitting in front of a computer for 30 years did not help my posture.
Plus for stress, I am walking and talking with God. That is relaxing for me. Just being outside seeing the greenery, the trees the flowers. It helps to keep me calm. Is it ok to walk slowly outside or should I not do that until after conversatin with therapist

Hi
I met with psycho therapist today. She is arranging for me to meet with aneuro surgeon at the hospital where my neurologist works. She said she will take responsibility for aranging meeting so the neurologist will not get upset with me. She said she will try and schedule for Monday.
One final question. My left side has always been weaker. Its been this way for years. I notice that my leg and arm are noticeably smaller. My sister noticed the leg the other day and my girl friend noticed my hand today. I always noticed this when I exrecised by looking t self in mirror. Even the neurologist always said the left side is weaker. Should I be concerned about this.
I know we are not symmetrical, but mine is noticeably smaller. Not abnormally smaller but noticeably. Should I be concerned bout this

Hi back,

You shouldn't worry about that. Since most of tge people use more the righ limbs they have the righ side more developed than the left side.

Hope this will be of help!
