Brief Answer:
please upload the reports..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome back to HCM,

I've gone through your query and understand your concern for your father..

Now, in order to guide you specifically, I'll be needing to see all the reports in details, so please upload them (don't upload any partial reports, but upload the complete check-up reports, and if any clinical health check-up done also, then upload them too)..

Also let me know if your father is on any specific medications for any other problems, let me know if there's any specific problems due to which the tests were done, or was it a part of preventive health check-up..

No, I couldn't find any attached reports here, request you to please upload them at the reports section or you can even mail them to YYYY@YYYY and keep the subject as ATTN:DR XXXXXXX , I'll receive them..

Looking forward to hear from you..

Take Care
Kind Regards

attached the report. the test was done as a preventive health checkup, no specific reason. he is on medication for regular cold, knee pain (krill oil supplement) and fibril powder for stomach issues.

Brief Answer:
follow the advises.. maintain a healthy lifestyle..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back,
Thanks for following up with the details, Yes I've reviewed the reports..

As per your description, your father's BMI is around 28.8, which is in the overweight range..don't worry, it's a reversible condition with proper dietary changes and workouts..

The VLDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides are on the higher sides, and it needs proper timely follow-ups, lifestyle modification as well as further work-ups..

You've only shared the lipid profile, was just lipid profile done ? or any other investigations done also , if yes then please share those reports too.. if no other investigations done, then it's important to get the following done :
CBC, LFT, Electrolytes, Renal function test, 12 lead ECG, FBS, PPBS (2 hour post prandial), HbA1C..

Start implementing simple home cooked meals, avoiding deep fried/ junk/ processed/ excessive salty/ oily and/restaurant foods..

Avoid red meat(if non-vegetarian) as well as high fat dairy products, include lean meats like chicken, fish, yogurt, curd in regular diet..

Time to reduce/replace the regular wheat/flour made products with whole grain/wheat products, also include a lot green vegetables, salads in daily meals..avoid packaged fruit juices , try to take fresh fruit juice instead..

Avoid alcohol and/ smoking (if he does)..

A daily walk/jogging/exercise of 30-40 min is extremely important as diet habits alone is not sufficient, to yield the best benefit physical work-outs are vital too..

Just get all those above mentioned investigations done at first (you can simply go for a comprehensive preventive health check-up package where all these are included), followed by a clinical assessment by any Internal medicine specialist, based on all those findings, the decision should be taken whether to initiate lipid lowering medications (Statin group of drugs) on daily basis..

I've tried to make it as simple as possible for you to understand, let me know if anything's not clear..

Take Care
Kind Regards
