Brief Answer:
sex act on the day , and before and after the day of ovulation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Dr. Purushottm Neurgaonkar welcomes you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) As you might be aware that in a woman with regular cycles day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of cycle. If you happen to have unprotected sex act in this period, then there is a chance of getting pregnant.

I hope that your partner has regular menstrual cycles.

3 ) Also, for pregnancy to take place naturally, her both Fallopian tubes need to be patent , and your semen should contain a good quantity and quality of the sperms.

4 ) When I advise my patients to get follicle study done, I advise them to have sexual activity at least on alternate days during this period.
Once a leading follicle reaches 18 mm and above I advise to get injection of Human chorionic gonadotropin, to help egg formation. Your treating doctor can guide you further about the same.

Once you get the injection, you can opt for sex activity on daily basis or at least on the day of ovulation and a day before and after that day.

5 ) If at all, she gets her next periods, then please get your semen analysis done. And I will suggest you to get her post menstrual HSG - hysterosalpingography done , it's an out patient X ray test to confirm tubal patency.
Also, it will be helpful to know exact volume of both the ovaries and exact echo texture of ovaries.

6 ) It won't be wrong on my side, to suggest that she should opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Include more portions of fruits, salads and vegetables in daily diet. Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products and refined sugars. Use of vitamin B 12 and Folic acid supplements on daily basis should be started at least 3 months before you plan to get pregnant. This will help to prevent various complications during the pregnancy.

I hope this answer helps you.
