What Does My Lab Test Report Indicate?

Question: I'd like to have your diagnosis,if possible,on the following ecography:
"Kidneys are normal for size and echostructure. At middle third of right kidney there is a nodular solid formation likely starting from cortical and moderately hyperechogenic compared with the same cortical, having maximum diameter of 38mm.It displays roundish morphology, regular and sharp edges and, at Doppler fluximeter evaluation, vascular signals at mainly peripheral distribution.
Man 74years old-hyperuricemia(about 4 years ago uricemia 13.5 mg treated only by diet(!!).It's about 3 months that he is suffering from ureteral pain/colic and is trying to solve the urate(?) stone. The echography didn't show stones and urine flows from ureters regularly. This echography has found the above findings.
The great question is: benign or malign?

Brief Answer:
The description makes benign lesion more possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

It does not seem malignant. It is regular, roundish and sharp. Those are characteristic for benign lesions. I do not thing this structure is a source of pain either.
For sure, his next step is kidneys CT to determine the nature of this lesion.

Hope this helps.
Regards.

I agree with you.
I'd like to know if the aforementioned picture may be related to angiomyolipoma or other benign lesions.
I'd also like to know if a distal ureter stone can be seen by echography and if the stone can't all the day cause pain it seems near the ureterovescical junction. The pain is alleviated by muscle relaxant medications.Pain sometimes arises when I stand up or sit down or ends when I sit on chair or lie down;in other words the pain seems "positional".
Thank you very much and best regards.Nicola Meduri

Brief Answer:
It is benign lesion.

Detailed Answer:
Usually the radiologist is able to see if its angiolipoma in tge ultrasound as the image of it is characteristic. But the description fits to benign lesion.
Distal ureter stone is usually invisible directly, but can be diagnosed as a proximal ureter distention.
CT is a very sensitive test for stones diagnosis.
