What Does My Liver Profile Test Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 May 2014
Question: Hi Doctor,

My Name is XXXX & am 30 year old, few days back i was down with sudden fever, which stays for almost 1.5 day.
i observed that pattern of my illness has been changed drastically in past one year or so, earlier i fell ill rarely {once a year } or even after more duration of time.
but i have faced health related issues more often past one year - eventually i get married in last year {and am sure it's nothing to do with that :) }
i have undergone full body tests and found few abnormalities in my report. which are as follows.
1. under liver profile subhead, values of SGOT/AST was 48.5 IU/L against 37.0 is highest range. similarly SGPT/ALT value was 78.5IU/L against 47.0 which is its highest value.
2. Under arthritis screening ESR rate is 16mm/1st Hr against 15.0 is it's highest value.
3. Under Thyroid profile, T SH {Thyrod stilumating hormone } level is 6.3 uIU/ml against 5.5 is it's maximum value.
4. Under Anemia studies Iron Fe 30.0 ugm/dl whereas optimum range is 59-150. whereas hemoglobin level is 14.0gm/dl 13-18.0 is normal range.
RBC distribution list is 14.3 FL whereas its normal range is 39.0-46.0
Mean corpuscular volume (MCV) 77.6 fl whereas 80-100 is normal range . Its relative component MCH has 25.9 Picogram value against 27-37.0 is its normal range.
5. when it comes to Blood count Esonophil value is 7.7% whereas 1.0-6.0 is its normal range.
AEC-Absolute esonophil count is also on higher side 0.79 against 0.04-0.44
6. platelets counts are on higher side
PDW IS 21.8 FL against 9.0-14.0 normal range
P-LCR is 52.3 % whereas 15.0-35.0 is normal range
MPV is 14.0 Fl whereas 6.5-12.0 is normal range.

finally urine test indicates abnormalities like
UROBILIOGEN is normal whereas it should be Negative
Blood {+++} wheres it should also be negative
Protine {++} whereas it should also be negative
RBC is 30-60 whereas value should be negative .

what are your initial thoughts on aforementioned data ?
I would like to know which specialist should i consult?
Please advise on diet chart as well { Am pure veggi }

Brief Answer:
UTI and need for life style modification

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I have gone through the reports you have mentioned.

I agree most of them are deranged but the values are not too high so as to point at a diagnosis. Except, the eosinophil count and the AEC which are high and indicate presence of an allergic response going on in you.

The liver parameters, the thyroid levels though deranged can be corrected with balance diet and regular exercise.

Every other blood related parameters too can change with life style modification.

The urine shows blood in it, this is an indication of either infection or presence of renal stones.

I suggest you to get a Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis, this will help to rule out the stones.

You may have to consult a Internal medicine specialist. With a ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis along with above reports.

Kindly consult our dietitian for a well formulated diet chart suitable for you.

Wish you good health.

Regards,
