Question : My 10 week Post Vescectomy Semen Analysis reports are : "Rare Sperm Observed (<1/HPF) from a centrifuged specimen". What does that mean in english ?????? Is there a risk of Pregnancy, LOW or HIGH? Did it work? So Confused and I'm a nurse!
Brief Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Certain amount of semen and sperm in it, persist for up to 18 weeks after vasectomy so this is a reason why this test is done. This less than 1 HPF is sign that vasectomy is succesful and possiblity of fertility and pregnancy is negligible, and practically impossible. to be sure you can repeat test in 18 weeks, but from medical aspect it is safe to have sex. WIsh you good health. Regards
