Question : Is a tsh level of 0.293 considered hyperthyroidism the normal lab values from the lab are 0.358-3.740 ulU/mL my THYROGLOBULIN, T3 free, T4 Free and my thyroid peroxidase AB are all normal
Brief Answer:
Likely Sick euthyroid state
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern. A single borderline low TSH while Ft4 is normal is called sick euthyroid state which is very common during a viral illness or a svere stress. However, in the recovery phase, TSH can go up to 15 and then gradually normalise.
Not to worry. Recheck the TSH after 1 month. If it stays below normal, then you may require a Technitium uptake scan ( Nuclear scan) to decide further.
