What Does My Ultrasonography Result Report Indicate?
Ultrasound findings mentioned not enough criteria say about cirrhosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
It seems you have chronic hepatitis B.
Severe chronic hepatitis can progress to cirrhosis of liver unfortunately.
Characteristic ultra-sonographic (USG) features of Cirrhosis of liver is coarse echotexture ,nodular surface and regenerating nodules surrounded by fibrous septae. The caudate lobe to right lobe of liver ratio> 0.65 is highly specific for Cirrhosis of liver. Did your Ultrasound report say anything about these? Only coarse echo texture may not be correct to say about cirrhosis.
The level of HBV DNA correlates more with the level of liver injury and risk of progression to cirrhosis of liver. So Have you undergo serum HBeAg (hepatitis B e antigen), anti-HBe, and quantitative HBV DNA levels -usual serum marker of HBV replication?
Please upload your USG abdomen report to see other features like portal vein diameter or splenic size etc to corroborate as coarse echogenic parenchymal echotexture goes in favour of progression to Cirrhosis of liver,if not fully cirrhotic liver.
You can go for CT or MRI abdomen to confirm USG finding.
However MRI abdomen will be more sensitive and informative when there is suspicion of cirrhosis of Liver.
Though Liver biopsy is the most reliable test for the diagnosis of Cirrhosis of liver ,other non-invasive imaging techniques like USG ,CT and MRI are equally informative.

My HbeAg is negative
And my HBV DNA quantative report is awaited..i have uploaded my USG report for your futher reference
Thanks
Chronic hepatitis B.
Detailed Answer:
Your USG report does not suggest cirrhosis of Liver .Coarse echo texture of liver parenchyma at best suggest chronic hepatitis .Quantitative HBV DNA levels will further clarify the issue of chronic hepatitis B.
