Brief Answer:
There is no risk of cancer from this ultrasound scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I am well and hope you are well.

I saw the new and old reports and found that
1. The nodules in the right lobe earlier measured 5 x 4 and 7 x 3 mm. The new ultrasound shows one nodule measuring 5.5 x 3.1 mm. One of the nodules might have regressed.

2. The left lobe showed a cyst measuring 23 x 10 x 17 mm earlier. Now the cyst measures 26 x 15 mm.

3. From the above we see that the nodules have not shown significant growth and can be taken to be stable. Therefore no intervention is required now.

4. Since literature tells that thyroid nodules are to be observed for 3 years therefore you can get a scan done after one year.

5. There is no risk of cancer in thyroid from this ultrasound scan. If you are feeling tired or weak then you can get your thyroid function test done to know if your thyroid hormone levels are normal. If there are no thyroid symptoms and earlier report of thyroid function test is normal then it is not required.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
