What Does My Ultrasound Scan Report Indicate?

Question: Hi, I have had a pain in my right side for a year now. It sometimes radiates into my lower back and up into my rib cage. My PA ruled out my kidneys. I also have Hemangioma on my liver, but the Gastroenterology ruled out that it was not the cause of the pain (even though it is rather large). I had an ultra sound done in July for my liver and it didn't show anything abnormal around it. My PA just says he doesn't know what it is. Pain is mostly a 5, and annoying, other times it is more like an 8. I can not lay on my right side at all. Thanks for your help, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You should get contrast enhanced CT scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Pain in the right side of the abdomen can be due to Liver, gall bladder,Kidney in upper aspect and Appendicitis, Ureteric stone in the lower aspect.
Sometimes, lesions in the chest may also cause pain in upper abdomen.
Please mention the exact site of pain.
The size of Haemangioma is important. I have seen many cases of Haemangioma with no significant pain.If it is large, otherwise may cause pain.
I prefer to get Contrast enhanced CT of both lower chest and whole abdomen.
If it is normal, then the pain could be due to musculoskeletal cause.Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside 4mg twice daily will give relief.
Please consult your doctor, preferably a Surgical Gastroenterologist and proceed further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
