Question : My mother's liver ultrasound indicates that the Liver Shear Wave Elastography average measurement: 23.8 kilopascals and Metavir correlation of liver elasticity: F4
what does this mean with regard to the condition of her liver?

Liver Shear Wave Elastography is a non invasive method of assessing liver fibrosis

Values greater than 12.5 kPa (2.04 m/s) are suggestive of cirrhosis

Metavir F4 is also suggestive of moderate plus cirrhosis

Get her liver function panel done and see a good Gastroentrologist in your area
