Detailed Answer:
Hi & Welcome.
Thanks for posting your query on Health care magic.
The ultrasonography of your wife shows partial loss of differentiation between the kidney cortex (surface) and medulla (deeper) structures.
Kidney consists of 2 portions a renal vascular (blood vessels) part and renal parenchyma. Renal (kidney) parenchymal disease refers to the damage that occurs in renal parenchyma.
There are millions of nephrons (functioning units of kidney) exist in the renal parenchymal of each kidney. Nephrons consist of glomeruli (small blood vessels) and tubules, which filter the waste products from the body. Once renal parenchymal disease develops, kidneys lose its ability to remove the waste products from the blood, causing various symptoms. If kidney parenchymal disease is not treated early, it may develop into advanced stage and result in kidney failure.
Kidney parenchymal disease can occur due to certain underlying medical illnesses such uncontrolled diabetes mellitus or high BP.
She needs proper clinical examination and further investigations like CBC, ESR, Kidney function tests (blood urea, serum creatinine, creatinine clearance, serum electrolytes), fasting blood glucose, lipid profile, urine analysis, etc.
The treatment (solution) depends upon clinical findings and investigation reports.
So, I advise her a nephrologist's consultation for proper evaluation to start the treatment early to avoid future kidney complications.
Hope I could answer your query. However, should you need further clarification please do send your query.
Best wishes.
