decreased fluid intake, increased protein intake, muscle breakdown
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Creatinine can originate from muscle and is also present from using meat, it is entirely removed by the kidneys.
Urinary creatinine is also dependent on water intake/hydration status and usually not used entirely on their own.
24 hour samples, measuring the amount of creatinine excreted for a whole day and blood creatinine levels , are normally better indicators of kidney function
High urinary creatinine can mean different things including: (1)diet- meat ingested or use of another source of dietary protein can play a role in levels
(2)can occur in diabetes
(3)muscle breakdown in some instances
(4)may also indicate reduced fluid intake
As mentioned, a random urine creatinine is not normally used to take a definitive look at the kidney function.
You should consider asking your doctor for blood creatinine, 24 hour urine assessment and BUN as well so that you can determine if your kidneys are working well.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
