Brief Answer:
ketones may indicate reduced carbohydrates

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Urine analysis can check for the presence of infection, inflammation of the kidneys, blood in the urine (hematuria), protein leakage of the kidneys, hydration staus (if using enough fluids), can also pick up if body using glucose.

Leuk esterase and WBC are used to detect infection

Ketones are used to detect use of glucose (sugar). If the body is not able to use the sugar in the body for some reason, it uses fat instead. When this is done, ketones are found in the urine.
This can occur in severely uncontrolled diabetes or if the use of carbohydrates is reduced

EPI cells are also found if the urine sample is contaminated when taken or inflammation of the urinary tract

Bacteria- found if there is infection or contamination from the skin

Normally the leuk esterase and bacteria would indicate infection but the fact that the WBC is so low makes infection very unlikely so the leuk is likely falsely high or the increase due to any contamination (high epithelial cells).
This should be re assessed by sending another sample to a lab for detailed check, this would be able to determine if any infection is present

If you are having symptoms of infection, your doctor may opt to treat it.

The Ket indicate that (1)if you are a diabetic, it is not in control or (2) you have reduce your intake of carbohydrates

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank you for the quick response.

I may have misrepresented my results. These are not negative numbers. I placed the dash only to separate the test and result. Did you perceive these as negative numbers? If so, I apologize. The results were:
U Leuk Esterase 25
U Ket 50
U WBC 0-3
U EPI Cells Many
U Bacteria Moderate

Does this information change your analysis?
Do you feel I have any area of major concern in light of these results?

Brief Answer:
you were clear before

Detailed Answer:
HI

Understood what you had previously, no problem.

Leu esterase of 50, ketones 50, wbc of 0-3 (means very little or none present).

As mentioned the leu esterase , WBC used to detect infection. The low WBC means infection not likely though the leu is 25 and bacteria seen.
Analysis of a repeat urine sample in the lab would determine if the results are due to infection or contamination from surrounding skin cells.

Please feel free to ask any other questions
