Question: my mother is 62 and she is diabetic. she has fever now and which doesn't come down without crocin.
her widal test is as follows:
typhi "o" - 1/80
typhi"H" - 1/80
typhi "AH" - 1/20
typhi"BH" - 1/20

how bad is her typhoid? in how many days will she recover?

Her antibody titres are not significant. A titre of more than 1:160 is considered significant.
You can repeat the test after 10 days. If there is a four fold increase in titre, then it can be taken as significant and typhoid (Enteric fever) is confirmed.

She can continue taking crocin.
Other tests like complete blood count, urinalysis and tests for malaria, leptospirosis may be done.
