Brief Answer:
Good negative needs to be repeated or PCR

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
The mode described by you has least chance of transmission of HIV as the wound would have dried or scarred. So probably there will not be open wound to come in contact with the secretions.
P24 antigen is also a component of HIV virus which is also detected in positive patients in early phase.
Antibodies to HIV are formed by the body if body is exposed to HIV virus. So negative means body is not exposed to HIV virus 1 and 2 types.
It is usually a good test after 3 weeks after exposure .The sensitivity and specificity of the test is above 99%. it is a very good screening test.
it is good for you to get tests done after 3 weeks of exposure which will allay your fears of HIV.
Else you can go for HIV -RNA PCR test if available.
You can get back to me for any clarifications.
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh

Brief Answer:
No.Do it later or go for RNA PCR.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
If you have so much anxiety then you can go for HIV RNA PCR. It is more reliable at this stage .
I do not recommend HIV combo again on 18th day as you will have anxiety again and again have to retest. You can do it further 1 -2 week later after 3 week than early.
Go for HIV RNA PCR if available.
You can get back to me for any clarifications else please close the discussion and rate.
Thank you

The chances of HIV by the method described is unlikely so you can relax and allay your fears.
You can go ahead with test after 21 days.As the result on 17th day will not conclude us and we will again repeat after 21 days if negative.you can go ahead if you desire to relieve your anxiety. Then repeat test after 1 month.Do not undergo tests very frequently and get anxious every time.
Do not worry .All the best most likely it will be negative.
